My work is rooted in concerns about the environment and issues of social justice. I am drawn to subjects whose meanings are not immediately fixed to the tensions, ambiguities and insecurities that exist beneath the surface.

Raymond Carver’s observation that the space between words can be as important as the words themselves resonates with the way I work. I explore the space between certainty and uncertainty, creating images that resist simple conclusions and invite an emotional response.
